The Funchux campaign is to produce the world's highest quality fire-performance gear at low prices. Our mission is to provide everyone with super affordable, great looking high-performance gear so they don't have to settle for dishing out $60-$160 on a single item to some big company that spent all of $9-$20 wholesale price on the materials and 20 minutes to produce it. In today's economy, people shouldn't be forced to spend an arm and a leg in order to receive fire toys which have been finely made by experienced craftsmen. Funchux is not some corporation, but an idea. Bringing people together and advancing the technology of fire performance equipment. Our philosophy is simple: build fire toys at the lowest prices possible without sacrificing quality, and sell each piece at the price which allows x 2 of the specific object to be built and resold. (Example: It costs us $18 to build a set of Firechux and we sell them for $36) When 1 object is sold, it creates 2 objects, and so on. As we all put in a small amount, we all get something great out of it. As our campaign grows it will allow us to continuously lower the pricing of our toys.

Aussie new to SF wondering if anybody have some spare glow or fire poi to trade for something?

Hey,
Im from Australia and new to san francisco, I love it here and am trying to settle in. I am an avid glow spinner (as its just less hassle than fire) but also love fire poi. I took 2 sets of poi to burning man, one didnt surive and the other set seemed to have gotten rehomed.

Wondering if anyone has a spare set of either glow or fire poi they could donate or trade.

Things I could help with:
I am a pretty good cook or
I could walk your dog
I might be able to show you a trick or 2 with poi... then again you might be the one showing me the tricks lol
Go shopping as a personal shopper... i have a great eye for what fits and what would look good on a person

Just some ideas. I just really miss spinning and cant possibly afford to buy any.

Id also love to get together with some spinners and practice sometime.

In celebration of the creative expression and highly evolved concept of Burning Man, Free Run Pictures, is screening their documentary, “Burning Man: Voyage in Utopia” an immersion into a journey towards a new world, at the the Grand Lake Theatre located at 3200 Grand Ave Oakland, California on Thursday October 23 at 8 Pm.

Synopsis:
Every year, tens of thousands of participants migrate to the vacant heart of the Wild West, The Black Rock desert in Nevada to celebrate Burning Man. Without a doubt the experience is extreme in this lost world of huge heat, desert storms, no shade, and no shops. Everybody must survive by themselves by bringing their own food and hopefully their good spirit. These “burners” mix their urban culture with a certain type of improvised tribalism. According to Larry Harvey, the principals are simple. Radical self expression and creation are absolute. No money here. All is based on a gift economy!

Ola church goers, as you know we here at beat church have always been about showcasing up and coming artists to bring you the freshest sounds and give the much needed exposure to our people who deserve it. This Thursday is no exception as we bring to you Cumulus. A native of Santa Barbara, CA, Sam Fairweather aka Cumulus has been playing electronic music since 2002. He spent 3 years as a fundamental organizer of a series of Word of Mouth full moon parties in the mountains of SB. His favorite time to play is sunrise. His favorite bpm lies somewhere between 70 and 185 bpm, but almost always deep, psychedelic, layered, and heavy. He has been working on a selection of deep and moody beats of his own and is ready to deliver some cloudy and funky tunes for the church. By now you have come to know and trust us when we tell you "you gotta check this shit out"
So come check it as Cumulus throws down his audio offerings for the
church in a style that only the setting of beat church brings out. Kitty-D and myself will be throwing down our super eclectic audio alchemical offerings as usual. wondering if there are any super free or cheap movement workshops in the santa cruz/san fran area. First time actually spending time out there - last time I was around I was on tour and only there for 4 days. I'm currently doing research and networking for my dance company and would def love to get a lil of that coveted cali vibe in the mix of this whole creative process.

I'll leave NY on May 14th and return on the 21st.
Can anyone point me in the right direction between those dates?
Will have a car so traveling is no biggie.

Many of us are arriving at Isis Oasis now, setting the space for the amazing weekend ahead. Xochi Luv is in the Lodge creating a Lovers Den and Healing Sanctuary, Harmony is transforming the Pavilion into a place fit for Faeries, and the 600 year old fir tree is waiting to hold space for our council. A fine rain fell yesterday, cleansing the earth and bringing the smells of sage and lavender alive. It is supposed to be 80 degrees tomorrow. The sun is shining and the weather is sweet. And don't you know it is makin' us want to move our dancin' feet!

The Goddess Alchemy Project, Tina Malia, Arjun and Guardians, the Tone of Orchid and Jonah Kai, Lee Giove, and Aire Redtree are on their way to bring through musical Soul from above and Below. Knowa Knowone, Heyoka, Adam Apollo, Sachi Om, and Lotus Drops will be pumping shamanic beats all night long. And that good fella' Robin Goodfelllow is ready to weave it all together with his mastery of rhyme.

Dancing around the Maypole, we activate our Springtime inner Lover and
honor the blossoming of life as we unite the Present with the Ancient,
the Masculine with the Feminine, together, in Sacred Alchemy.
The Maypole ritual will be followed with participatory comedy, a
bardic fire circle, musical performances, and shamanic DJ's creating
soundscapes for our dancing and art throughout the night. Rise and

Suggested Donation: sliding scale $75-$175 with some work-trade and
vendor positions available. Donations include: camping/dorm space,

All donations go directly to the Pantheogenesis Sacred Temple in
Entheon Village at Burningman in August and to the Mythic Playground
at Isis Oasis.

In addition to Kim Hix's Mythic Playground, Isis Oasis is the amazing
home of the Healing Zone & Love Den, a 500 year old fir tree, ocelots,
white peacocks, temples, a hot tub, a sauna, and a pool.

I am writing to invite you all out out to celebrate my 38th birthday on this Thursday Feb. 28th (my actual birthday) @ shine. My birthday just happened to fall on the Thursdays that my good friend and soul brother Mozaic is doing his new monthly at shine "MIXTAPE" I will be closing out the night around 1:00am and in the style of my interpretation of "mixtape" will be playing and extra eclectic set retrospecting my 24 years as a dj. I vote for hugging them too. If you are not sure who to hug come find the sparkly girl in the hula hoop whose outfit reminds you of an 80's neon flashback and hug me...I will introduce you around!

3. Learn something new....you can do what you are doing alone in your living room, come to Spin Jam to learn something. There are many awesome and cool teachers in the room. Let us all be students of life and each other and share our bountiful abundance of skills and knowledge!

international travel with fire props

I am about to leave for India and I have a lot of fire props that I need to bring with me that are pretty far from having virgin wicks. I heared that technically I can't bring anything in my checked luggage that has traces of fuel on it. I was wondering if anyone has any advice. I'm traveling Continental Airlines if that means anything in particular to anyone.
I also heared of "washing" wicks which I'm kind of curious about. I'm actually a little more concerned with getting the props back into the US than getting them out there, and if there was a way for me to "wash" the wicks that would help.

Performance opportunity at Burning Man

Hello

I'm writing to you to let you know about performance opportunities at Burning Man this year. I am the performance coordinator for the Opulent Temple! I'm sure may of you have heard of us and have probably danced at our camp at one time or another. Well this year we are bringing it to a new level. We have been working for the last 4 months on building a stage that is going to be a place for performers to do their thing. If you do fire, aerial, circus, whatever it is you're into please consider coming and doing your thing at our camp. Its not just about the d.j's anymore, we want to make Opulent Temple a place that showcases everyones talents. This year we would love to have performers come out and do their thing to open up each major d.j's set, that way its a definate transition point and it gives our audience a feast for their eyes as well as their ears!!!!

A little bit about the stage. Its being built in the shape of a star, and it will be raised 10 ft off the ground. There will be 5 points to perform on, so for troupes this is perfect....you can each take a piece of the star. The negative space of the star is the stage, i.e: the dancing people down below will be able to see everyone perform....its wicked, but difficult to explain without a drawing. And covering the star stage will be an open air bamboo dome that will have rigging capabilities for those who do aerial, the rigging point being the center of the star! This is a very basic description but I hope it peaks your interest.

Post) for the second annual Temple of Poi Fire Dancing Expo. In addition to
some amazing student performances, this show features world-renowned
performers from around the US as well as some of the best artists around the
Bay Area in a 2 hour show hosted by a Chicago based comedian.

The creation of this event – selected as one of Bay Area Dance week’s
Cornerstone events – is a tremendous leap in the efforts to legitimize fire
dancing as an art form by taking it out of parking lots and putting it on
landmark stages like Union Square. The Expo celebrates safe, legally
permitted, public fire dancing performance in honor of National Dance Week,
an annual 10-day week of free public dance events in the Bay Area designed
to showcase the dynamic diversity and critically acclaimed quality of Bay
Area dance.

Temple of Poi supports this vision by creating an unprecedented opportunity
to celebrate fire dancing at no cost to the artists or audience. This event

Matt has been putting the smiles on crowds with his track selection and has the skills to keep you grooving.
The party these three guys recently played at in Sacramento was a huge success.

Triton and Sparkle are residents of Alchemy and will get the antigravity generator started. From the playa to various clubs and parties, these two have kept floors grooving for a while.

Can we please, please, let it go already? I am so tired of hearing you bitch about house music and then dance your ass off to it. Please, educate yourself about what a "breakbeat" is and what a "house" track is. Here is a hint: if the beat is 4 on the floor then it is house. If it is broken up it is a breakbeat. That is the only fucking difference. Same tempo, same time signature, same software used to make it. Newsflash: every single "breaks" party I go to I hear house tracks and you are all still dancing. How about you stop hating and realize that, like any other genre, there is shitty house, mindblowingly great house, and everything in between, and that some of your favorite breaks djs spin house in the same set as breaks without you even knowing it?

Several years ago, a very particular style of house became enormously popular in SF and took a bunch of dj's all over the world. Many of them are still famous and make their livings producing music and djing across the globe. Generally the style of this music was loungey with a lot of vocals and, for those of us who like it dirty, edgy, raw, and are into shaking our fucking asses, very boring. Cool to listen to at the beach or something but not the kind of shit I want to hear at 2:30 in the morning when the party is raging.

I love great music. I don't care what "genre" someone spins. I care about their dj skills. I care about their ability to weave tracks together to create a new soundscape and make me beg for more. I care about whether they can reach inside of my soul and force me to dance or not, and if they can work a dancefloor into a frenzy.

I hate when you ask me what I spin. I know if I tell you that I spin house some of you will roll your eyes and never talk to me again. I also know that if you get your ass onto one of my dancefloors that you will be pleasantly surprised to hear twisted, gritty, techy, glitchy sounds with a banging 4/4 kick and a bass line that rattles your rib cage and that you will be dancing. Hard.

Oh, and when I try to hand you a flier it is a compliment. It means I like your style and your vibe and I am inviting you to attend an event that I am pouring countless hours into and spending thousands of dollars to produce. Looking at me like you just stepped in dog shit and not taking my flier because you think that the only events you ever might want to come to end up in your email inbox or on nitevibe.com makes you way less cool than you think it does.

Shit makes me really miss the scene in the 90's (which I suspect many of you weren't as keyed into) before people gave a fuck what "genre" it was and they didn't even know what the genres were and you'd hear house, breaks, trance, jungle, acid, and anything else all in the same party and everyone just danced until they were completely covered in sweat and our heartrates were pumping really hard and we kept dancing until the sun came up and then caught a few hours of sleep (maybe) in time to do it again the next night.

But this isn't about the past, it is about the future. How much more fun would the parties be if we all stopped hating and just supported each other? I hope to find out.

2007 HAIGHT STREET FAIR / NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!!

Well, here the Haight Street Fair is in 2007 with a small minority of squeky wheels making some noise about our fair.

In Pablo's passing a two year old group has increased their demands on us. Some folks from the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council (H.A.N.C.) have heard gossip of their intentions of either trying to take over the fair or force us under their control.

Members of the Haight Street Fair Board have sat in a few meetings with HAIA, CVIA HANC (the real group that represents the neighborhood, without having to say it) and a couple of other groups that are out of the haight village or have one member Impovement Group status.

Supivisor Ross, District 5; has hosted a few meetings for us. He has been helpful in trying to create some fair ground for everyone. With all of his efforts we are still in conflict with a group that does not act in good faith towards us.

In one meeting that Ross called in city hall a member of the HAIA, Michael O'Connor (Whom is a third owner of the nightclub, THE INDEPENDENT; on Divisidaro St) spoke out strongly against the Haight Street Fair. Thanks Michael O'Conner!

We went into our ISCOTT hearing last Thursday and the president Mr. Lee put a hold on our street closure permit hearing for two weeks.

Please spread this information out!

The attack on street fairs is an increase of killing SF culture.............I love my urban city very much............and do take seriously that WE here in SF are in the middle of a culture war right now.

Brad and the How Weird Street Fair got their permits after being rejected. But with huge new demands, their time was cut from 8pm to 6pm, and Brad cannot have his fair there in 2008!

1. You commit to being there at opening 8:45-9:00 and/or closing 12:00AM
through clean up.
2. You set up the table and the money jug.
3. You arrange for a guest dj, or you bring an ipod and plug it in.
4. You act responsibly in the space, and remind others to also (if needed).
5. You pay the $75 rental fee to John the owner at the end of the
night out of the jug. Extra money goes to Jamie for "lean nights" and
the Spin Jam Improvement Fund (getting a second CDJ), if there is not
enough to cover, you put up the difference/ask everyone to chip in
more.
6. You feel great about contributing to your fellow spinny freaks and
our lovely little community!

The Shiva Vista Project is an art installation *by* fire performers *for* fire performers at night and for other individuals and groups during the day. Shiva Vista will create an atmosphere for fire performers, theatrics, sunrise yoga, circus entertainers, poetry, fashion shows, etc. to play, interact, and display their talent six feet above the playa for all to see their evolution, their transformation from one year to the next. When the Shiva Vista is not being used for scheduled performances, it will be available to anyone to use for meditation, shade, drumming, as well as spontaneous fire art and beyond.

History and inspiration...
Shiva is one of three aspects of the Hindu trinity representing divinity. Brahma is the first aspect, considered the creator, Vishnu the second aspect considered the preserver and Shiva, the destroyer. Shiva's function is to destroy all the worlds at the end of creation and dissolve them into nothingness, void, from which point Brahma again creates the world, completing the circle of life. Shiva is responsible for change, both in the form of death and destruction and in shedding old habits to start anew. Shiva's destruction is positive, that of nourishment and construction that builds and transforms life and energy for the welfare of the world and all that inhabit it. Shiva destroys to renew and regenerate. This is the destruction of an artist, a surgeon, a cook; evolution. Through destruction is facilitated the smooth transition of things and events from one stage to another.

The Shiva Vista project represents the theme at Burning Man this year and the continued evolution of Controlled Burn and the Fire Conclave Convergence Camp in the sense that this installation is intended to be built this year and used over the next couple of years, facilitating change, evolution, the shedding of old and creation of new, recycling and the circle of all life. Additions to the original structure are in the design process and will be added for Burning Man 2008, at which time it will be burned as it was designed to do, fulfilling the inevitable departure from existence into nothingness and oblivion!

Julian will be setting up all by his lonesome for this first community
owned Spin Jam as our leaders of many years (Andres and Amy) will be unavailable,
and I will be at the Fire Ballet at the crucible for the first half of
the night. I will come for the end to settle up with John, but in the
mean time, can someone please step up to support Julian? Thanks! Setup starts at 8:45pm.

Elephant Table

Hey all,

Back in the 136 Taylor days I had an elephant table that I lost track of; it's dear to me from childhood; I've been missing it for a long time but only recently thought to reach out here & ask about it. It's about 2 feet tall, painted dark green and made of a dense foam. It used to be the table I ate at at my grandmother's house when I was about 3.

Hoping somehow it's survived & someone in the extended IK community might know if its whereabouts.

Hey Kidz! Read on- we need some help this week!

Its been waaaay too long since we played together! So gear up for our semi-regular jam. This week we have RJ and AmyO rockin' the decks- sweet!

Also, after this jam we will be moving into participatory mode where Spin Jam's continuance will depend on the participation of y'all. Jamie will be coordinating who's doing what and the responsibilites are quite minimal, so fear not about stepping up to help create the gathering you love!

And in the spirit of making setup even easier, this week we are permanently installing blacklights on the ceiling. This means we need your assistance in setting up scaffolding running up some lights, connecting everything, and then removing the scaffolding. I figure most of this can happen while spin jam is underway so you can be social and help out at the same time.

I'll be arriving at 8:30 and promptly get to setting stuff up, so please come early if you can cause finishing early means we can play under the blacklight a little longer!

Starting with the basics and taking you through the movements that can be integrated into creating your own hoop dance."

Hosting Spin Jam

Hello all you wonderful movers and shakers!

There will be no Spin Jam for two more weeks unless someone steps up to host it. So far the only one to do so has been Pi. You know what it takes to make Spin Jam happen...you want it to happen...so make it happen! If I can get a ride there, I'll make it happen, but I have to leave around 11pm, so unless we end it early, I'd need someone else to stay later and wrap it up. Let's do this!

Responsibilities (off the top of my head):
- Promoting it to make sure people show up
- Putting out the money jar and signs, and making sure that our rent of $75 is reached
- Putting out a sheet to collect email addresses for the mailing list
- Arranging for music (having a DJ come in with equipment, or hooking up an iPod)
- Taking responsibility for the money, making sure everything's clean, and locking up

See, it's not hard. Anyone willing to step up to host next week's (or to give me a ride - from the Potrero area - so I can do it)?

something has come up that is keeping both amy and i from being able to put spin jam on. My sincerest apologies for the late notice.

this brings up a salient issue which is that if spin jam is to continue, it requires the input of energy beyond mine and amy's. if you have ever thought about participating, now is the time to stand up. this could determine the continuance of spin jam (or at the very least prevent times like tonight).

Its a beautiful night, perhaps the grove will be equally beautiful this evening.

about 10-15 performance venues in a six block area of the Mission. There's everything from photography
installations to live bands to video documentaries to political art to fire performance.

So MAPP stands for Mission Artists and Performers Project.

The Mission Arts & Performance Project is a bi-monthly collaboration between visual artists, musicians, poets and performers. The MAPP puts art and performance on the street level by using alternative spaces such as private garages, basements, and studios. It's a block party of the arts for inspiring in ourselves, and others, the desire for a creative existence, an ever widening experience of life.

By transforming garages and backyards into mini-galleries MAPP shows how ordinary spaces can be made extra-ordinary to bring people together to share in a diverse experience of fine art and performance. The garages, as they are unpretentious and open to the street, pose the possibility of exposing the arts to a lot of folks who might not ever enter a gallery or theater. This process helps take the art from the margins of our communities to where it may come to be more widely see and understood as a vibrant and vital force necessary to the health of our society. It is our hope that local residents and others attending the MAPP will be inspired to seek expression of their own experiences and feelings through creative means and join in sharing what they have discovered in the MAPP events to come.

The past 3 FireDrums were blessed with some of the most epic Fire and Drumming Jams of all time with participation from some of the world's most amazing Fire Dancers and Drummers. Truly inspirational!

FireDrums will always be open to everyone at any skill level even if you've never lit-up. Whether you're learning, teaching, sharing, inspiring, or being inspired, we welcome anyone interested in being part of the abundance of advancement that occurs when a convergence of this magnitude transpires. We look forward to revisiting old friendships and creating new ones with those who love the beat of the drums and the warmth and glow of the flame.

Everyone was a beginner at some point in their development and you can often learn just as much from teaching as you can from being taught. There will be organized and impromptu interactive workshops in the various disciplines of the Fire and Flow Arts and Drumming throughout the gathering.

LOCATION: We've secured the beautiful Cutters Scout Reservation exclusively for our next FireDrums gathering. Cutter Scout Reservation is a full-service camping facility located in the coastal mountains of California above Santa Cruz. This breath-taking 300 acre camp ground is located 25 miles from Santa Cruz and 67 miles from San Francisco. Cutter is about 2,200 feet in elevation and it's in some of the last old-growth redwoods on the West Coast. There is a full-size swimming pool, a small lake with canoes, hiking trails, bathrooms & showers with running water, bbq's, and so much more!

Things to bring: Your highest self, fire toys, drums, fuel, fire safety equipment, whatever you need to be happy in the woods, camping gear, tent, food, drinking water, friends & family, flashlight, sun screen, bathing suit, layers for varying temperatures, love & good vibes.

Things not to bring: alcohol, dogs, bad vibes.

This time we are now in has been called "The Time of Trial on Earth," "Judgement Day," "The Time of Great Purification," "The End of this Creation," "The Quickening," "The End of Time as We Know It," "The Shift of the Ages." It is foretold that the completion of the Precession brings regeneration of Earth, offering awakening to all open, willing hearts. Many peoples spoke of these last days of the Great Cycle, including the: Maya, Hopi, Egyptians, Kabbalists, Essenes, Qero elders of Peru, Navajo, Cherokee, Apache, Iroquois confederacy, Dogon Tribe, and Aborigines.

As avid stargazers, the ancient Maya were keen to an astrological cycle we call the Precession of the Equinoxes. This is close to a 26,000 year cycle in which Earth transits through each of the 12 signs of the zodiac for about 2152 years each. Each of these astrological ages represents one month of the grand, Cosmic Year. Sumerians, Tibetans, Egyptians, Cherokees, Hopi, and Mayans refer to this same 26,000 year cycle in their mystical belief systems and each have developed calendars based on this great cycle.

The Maya messengers, reknowned for their architectural, artistic, mathematical and scientific achievements, left a calling card as a series of super-human sized stone monuments and pyramids with precise calendrical computations. Planted with great intention, these dates were left to ensure that future generations would be alerted to the coming end point of this great 26,000 year cycle. A cycle which corresponds also to a 26,000 year relationship of our Sun orbiting Alcyone, the central star of the 7 Sisters Pleiades constellation. According to the Maya, the "future" which lies beyond this end date is literally "a new world age" - "a new creation."

The 26,000 year cycle of the Homo Sapien's evolution and development is mirrored by the 260-day cycle of human gestation. Collective humanity is right now maturing into the being we have long been encoded to be. As with any labor, it is not the mother, or the baby, who is in charge - it is the primal process of Birth itself unfolding its own destiny.

Thus the December 21, 2012 AD is not the day where all of the sudden a light switch will flip on and everything will change, rather, we are NOW in the process of this transition from one World Age to the next. The changes are underway and will continue steadily accelerating as we head towards the culminating date!

The ancient Maya understood this 26,000 year cycle to be specifically composed of 5 lesser cycles, each 5,125 years each. Each of these 5 cycles was considered its own World Age or Creation Cycle. As depicted on the familiar, circular MesoAmerican Sun Stone, (often called the Aztec Calendar) each Creation Cycle is said to have been ruled and destroyed by one of 5 elements. Specifically, 4 Jaguar, 4 Wind, 4 Rain, 4 Water.

Our present great cycle (3113 B.C. - 2012 A.D.) is called the Age of the Fifth Sun. This time period is ruled by 4 Earth. This fifth age is the synthesis of the previous four. 4 Earth (called Caban in the Maya language and Ollin in Aztec) has several meanings, including: movement, shift, evolution, earthquake, navigation, synchronicity, clue tracking, turtle. In the Maya language, the word "ol" of ollin means consciousness.

In Mayan calendrics, the initial date that Earth entered the Fifth World was August 13, 3113 BC, written in Mayan long count notation as 13.0.0.0.0. Every day from that point was reckoned by the number of days passed since the event of this cosmic beginning point.

As Dr. Jose Arguelles writes in "Time and The Technosphere" -
"August 13, 3113 BC is as precise and accurate as one can get for a beginning of history: the first Egyptian dynasty is dated to ca 3100 BC; the first 'city,' Uruk, in Mesopotamia, also ca 3100 BC; the Hindu Kali Yuga, 3102 BC; and most interestingly, the division of time into 24 hours of 60 minutes each and each minute into 60 seconds [and the division of the circle into 360 degrees], also around 3100 BC, in Sumeria. If the beginning of history was so accurately placed, then must not the end of history, December 21, 2012 also be as accurate?"

(Sidenote: Regarding the World Age cycle we are closing in 2012 and the new World Age cycle to dawn, there are varying cosmologies as to whether we are closing the Fifth World and entering the Sixth, or closing the Fourth World and entering the Fifth. For example, In the perspective of the living Maya Timekeepers of Guatemala, calendrically speaking, each element has a 5,125 year cycle. They teach that we have been through fire, earth, air and water already. The next cycle (beginning Dec 21, 2012) will be ether - the Fifth Age - the Age of Center. Likewise, the Hopi teach we are closing the Fourth World of Destruction, and preparing to begin the Fifth World of Peace. Regardless of the title given, what is clear is that we are on poised on the brink of a World Age Rebirth!)

Within the 5,125 year cycle lies 13 smaller cycles, known as the "13 Baktun Count," or the "long count." Each baktun cycle is 394 years long, or 144,000 days. Each baktun was its own historical epoch or Age within the Great Creation Cycle, carrying a specific destiny for the evolution of those who incarnated in each baktun. For example, almost all of the Mayan inscriptions were seeded precisely during Baktun 9 (435-830 AD). This era is known as the time of the Classic Maya. After this point, around 830 A.D., the great Mayan centers were abandoned and their thriving culture mysteriously disappeared. To this day, no one can verify or prove why they left or where they went.

The Classic Maya of Baktun 9 were of a specific destiny, distinct from Maya of other times. As Dr. Jose Arguelles writes, "In 830 A.D. the engineering team departed back to space, back to the other dimensions from which the Maya keep their watch on things. Slowly the terrestrial Maya melted back into the jungles. The time of darkness was setting in. Sure enough the conquerors came. By 830 A.D. Warrior tribes who took the ancient name of Toltec, which means Master Builder, entered the Yucatan. War and human sacrifice were introduced."

Earth and her inhabitants are currently travelling through the 13th baktun cycle - the final period of 1618-2012 AD. This cycle is known both as "the triumph of materialism" and "the transformation of matter." The Maya predicted this final baktun would be a time of great forgetting in which we drift very far from our sense of Oneness with Nature and experience a kind of collective amnesia. Like a memory virus in which we begin to believe the limited reality of appearances and grow dense to the spiritual essence which fuels this world, so humanity's sense of ego and domination has grown.

We entered this baktun cycle right after establishing the world wide coordination of Pope Gregory XIII's 12 month calendar system (1582) as well as the perfection of 12 hour 60-minute mechanical clock (1600), which had been evolving for centuries. These are no small matters. According to Valum Votan, these 2 instruments are what manifested humanity's "error in time" which is the following of artificial instruments of time that served to separate man apart from the rest of nature, operating by our own false timing frequency, to the detriment of the natural world.

The Gregorian calendar is not based on logic, science, or nature. It denies and covers up the true annual human biological cycle conserved in the body of woman. It is the current world standard because of the forceful issuance of this system upon conquered (indigenous) peoples who lost their land as well as their religious freedoms. The Gregorian calendar is a product of its predecessors - Julius Caesar's calendar and the earlier Roman Empire calendar.

The clock was the first existing machine - going on to become the heart of all machine technology to come.

The presence of the clock gave birth to the notion that time lies outside our bodies - that it can be tracked by a machine, and that we can sit and watch it "fly" by tick-tock as though it is something linear, containable, and separate from the organic, flowing process of life. The adherence to the clock for our sense of time and timing is noted as the greatest obstacle to allowing the full telepathic abilities of the human to flower.

Next came the Cartesian Coordinate Rectilinear Grid System (1637) which went on to establish the foundational platform of all modern math and science. Thanks to Rene Descartes (the man infamous for his quote "I think therefore I am,") the ceiling of perception validated only the reality of the 3 dimensions of physical space. The coordinates of X,Y, and Z rendered the fourth dimension obsolete from our worldview.

At that moment, time became reduced from its qualitative essence to that of a quantity. The mind who adopted the lens of the linear grid also adopted the limited perception of time as a 3rd dimensional linear progression of pure duration.

Our societal paradigms have continued to operate with these limitations in place. Thus if something can not be seen, touched, or proven with measurements, it does not, in effect, exist.

Through the Cartesian lens, Nature has become reduced to pure quantifiable resources - no longer a living qualitative aspect of ourselves, but now something outside of ourselves which we observe, analyze and ultimately come to replicate, manipulate, dominate, toxify, and even destroy or extinguish. As Rene Descartes stated plainly,"I perceived it to be possible to arrive at knowledge highly useful in life...and thus render ourselves the lords and possessors of nature."

It seems the modern world wants nothing more than to improve upon Nature, or at least extract her wisdoms and magical properties in order to make a buck by fulfilling increasing consumer demand.

And so, here we are - currently living the last 7 years of both a 5,125 year Creation Cycle, and the last 8 years of a 26,000 Grand Cycle, the Precession of the Equinoxes.

The coming end date of December 21, 2012 is also written as 13.0.0.0.0. in Mayan long count notation; just like the beginning date.

Scholar and author John Major Jenkins reports,"On 13.0.0.0.0, the December solstice sun will be found in the band of the Milky Way. We can call this an alignment between the galactic plane and the solstice meridian. This is an event that has slowly converged over a period of thousands of years, and is caused by the precession of the equinoxes. The place where the December solstice sun crosses the Milky Way is precisely the location of the "dark-rift in the Milky Way...'xibalba be' - the road to the underworld."

On the winter solstice of 2012, the noonday Sun exactly conjuncts the crossing point of the sun's ecliptic with the galactic plane, while also closely conjuncting the exact the center of the galaxy.

We are being invited to realize that we are Time. We are the Living Prophecy. The Synchronic Order of Natural Time governs the unfolding of our lives. All that is manifesting on the inner and outer planes reflects the sacred intensity of these prophetic times. This is now the time to embrace all that has been dishonored or denied, for it is emerging to be purified and sanctified. Accountability is required on all levels of our existence. The cosmic climate is changing at rapid rates, allowing us to now transduce and shed egoic programs of fear and limitation easier than in the past.

Science reveals that Earth's base resonant frequency is increasing (Earth's heart-beat), and that the magnetic fields of the planet are dropping - reflected in the shifting migration patterns of animals. These shiftings of the Earth's body allow us to release unwanted baggage - mental, physical and emotional patterns, conditioning, beliefs, attitudes, and programming. Simultaneously, that which we think or desire is becoming actualized more and more swiftly.

A peak point in this time on Earth is what's called the "transition of the biosphere into the no-osphere." Take Magic Flight!

According to the Dreamspell mythology, it is 208 steps to Merlin's Tower, then comes entry to the Green Central Castle of Enchantment, the Court of the Matrix and the Moon Genesis. This means that the Day out of Time, Kin 208, should be the most magical Day out of Time yet. Originally called green day because green is the overtone chromatic color signifying the galactic fifth force, this Day out of Time let us all exercise our galactic freedom and contact the Galactic Federation. With only six and a half years to the Closing of the Cycle this is the moment to send the signal to space and see if the Galactic Federation won't beam us back a reply.

Flying saucers from other worlds dropped in unexpectedly at the original Woodstock Festival, in New York and at the Jimi Hendrix Rainbow Bridge concert in Hawai'i - so why won't they respond to a synchronized signal sent by groups of meditators and concerts intentionally beaming a psychic signal to space. Everything depends on our intention, focus and synchronized effort to communicate and see if we can't establish two-way communication. After all, every year we receive signals in the form of ever more fascinating crop circles, so why don't we send a few signals that we are all familiar with and see if we don't get a signal back. Why don't we send the banner of peace and Hunab Ku/galactic shield symbols out into space - telepathically, and wherever we can by laser beams.

There are several ways we can do this. First of all, wherever there are Day Out of Time gatherings, as early in the day as possible - pre-dawn is best when the airwaves are pretty clear - we should take time to sit in a circle and come to absolute quiet and natural mind peacefulness. Then, after fifteen minutes or so, all together we should concentrate and visualize in our mind the symbol of the banner of peace. This is easy to do. Think that all of us gathered at this particular place have the same image in mind, concentrating on it without distraction. Then, as we hold that image as clear and distinct as we can make it in our imaginal mind, visualize that the projections of this symbol are being sent radially out from that circle, beaming it to the farthest reaches of space. In your mind and heart you should fill that visualization with pure unconditional love, requesting fervently that it be and that the Galactic Federation is requested to help bring peace to the planet by first sending some kind of sign that it has received our message.

Then, after another fifteen minutes or so of beaming the banner of peace symbol, you can follow that up with the hunab ku/galactic shield visualization (this is the one on the Dreamspell kit). Gathering yourself in silence again for another fifteen minutes or so, then, as before, commence to visualize the hunab ku/galactic shield. After you have the image as distinct and clear as you can get it in your mind's eye, then again begin to project it into space, radiating out in so many beams from your circle. This time your intention is to contact the extraterrestrial intelligence, for you need knowledge and help for your planet. Feel fervently in your heart and mind how such supermental knowledge at this time could help your planet solve its problems.

Finally, after another fifteen minutes of visualizing and projecting, take another fifteen minutes or so to return to the calm and quiet of the natural mind meditation, always minding the gap. Then to complete the exercise, do the rainbow bridge visualization, feeling the rainbow projecting from the poles of the Earth. Once again, as you complete the visualization, send it to out into deepest space radiating out from your circle of galactic freedom lovers, letting the Galactic Federation know of your vision for 2012 and requesting that whatever assistance they can give for the fulfillment of this vision, it will be most profoundly appreciated.

That is the first part of the exercise. Then later in the day if there are any concerts, let the performance of these be on behalf of sending a signal into space in the hope that it may be heard or received and reciprocated in some way. Nothing particularly special has to be done, but merely that the performers and audience know that the intention of this concert is specifically to send a signal to space on behalf of galactic freedom on Earth. If there are evening events, or in any case in the evening, where there might be the technology to do so, laser lights bearing the symbols of the banner of peace and the galactic shield should be projected upwards into the sky, signaling the extraterrestrials that a unified, synchronized effort is being made to communicate with them, that we know we need their help and that we are ready to receive them in whatever way they wish to manifest or communicate.

The more people on Earth that can participate in this effort, the better. As the earth turns there will be a moving 24 hour synchronization of meditation, concerts and laser light shows all beaming the same message: we are in peace; we need your intelligence; we are ready for you; 2012 is very near now. Can you help us?

Everything depends on clarity of mind, selflessness, compassion, and no expectation to receive anything in the familiar paradigm, but something totally unexpected, perhaps even as some radically new intuition or perception collectively perceived. Purify your body and mind. Be ready.
