Hello! I just moved from LA to SF, and am curious about the fire community up in SF. I would love to go to burns, jams, events, etc....where should I begin looking? Thx in advance!

Re: connecting with fire burners in the bay
Mon, October 2, 2006 - 8:36 PMThe bay tends to be too cold to find many fire burners in it. You're better off looking for them on dry land (or, at least, a bridge or a beach).
A good place to make first contact would be the Infinite Kaos indoor spin jam on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 9PM - 12:30AM, 1275 Connecticut St. at Cesar Chavez in San Francisco. This one doesn't involve fire. There are many other gatherings to spin fire at random places and times; there are occasionally some in parks, some at NIMBY in Oakland on Sunday nights, and some at people's homes in the south bay. -

Re: connecting with fire burners in the bay
Wed, October 4, 2006 - 1:38 PMYou just missed out on FireDrum IV, an annual fire event. Thereare some practices happening at different places and times through out the weeks. As was said, come to SpinJam, next one will be the 12th and 26th. Bring your practice poi, staff, hoop, wand, etc, and donation $$.
Otherwise, can check out firedrums.tribe.net/ , as well as bm.tribe.net/
